Viber (New Version)
Viber – Messenger for those who value privacy
Secret chats and self-destructing messages? This is not an application for secret agents but the popular Viber multi-platform messenger. Privacy protection solutions distinguish it, and at the same time, have what other messaging services do. Get to know all the possibilities of Viber.
Instant messaging has become a practically obvious alternative to traditional methods of communication – phone calls, text messages, or personal meetings. We use Skype, Messenger, or WhatsApp to chat with friends and use them more and more at work. Video calls, group chats about projects, file transfers – are increasingly being done using instant messaging. And it is important for us that this communication is effectively encrypted and secure.
Viber is gaining more and more popularity among users – a communicator with Belarusian and Israeli roots, which conquers hearts (and devices) with solutions protecting privacy. Today it has over 800 million users worldwide. Viber provides them with full protection of messages and conversations through end-to-end encryption (i.e., no device, person, or organization except the sender and recipient has access to them).
There is also a function of secret chats visible on the list only after entering a predefined PIN. Recently, there is even the possibility of self-destructing the message after being read by the recipient. Messages that the sender indicates for destruction cannot be forwarded. The option of taking screenshots is also blocked on Android (the function does not work on iPhones, but when the recipient takes a screenshot, the application will notify the sender about it). Viber also, unlike Facebook, for example, has implemented the GDPR rules for all its users around the world.
Interview for 250 people? No problem!
He is closest to Skype, although WhatsApp connects him because the user ID is his phone number. Viber is a free application that allows you to contact people all over the world – it allows you to constantly exchange messages, calls, as well as video and teleconferences.
It allows for free voice calls, text messaging, HD video calls, individual and group chats (up to 250 participants simultaneously), and sending multimedia files via Wi-Fi or 3G / 4G networks. It also provides push notifications, which means that we will not miss the message even if the application is turned off. The interface is intuitive, easy to use, runs smoothly, with no ads, and requires no registration.
You can also call the landline!
Importantly, the application can synchronize content between the desktop and mobile versions. Viber syncs with the contact list saved on the smartphone and automatically detects users using this messenger. The only requirement to use it is Internet access – communication does not take place via the cellular network, which means savings for the user.
However, you can also use it to make a traditional low-cost phone call to landlines and mobile numbers (Viber Out).
Viber, the gadget supplier
Viber also allows you to add stickers available in the application to photos sent using the messenger. Creative users can also take advantage of the graphic drawing function.
In the last major update of Viber 10, new features (hiding phone numbers and group audio calls) and many design changes have also appeared in the messenger – the layout of the sections has been simplified, and access to the most frequently used functions has been made easier. The introduction of group video calls in the future was also announced.
